For my independent novel I chose Ninteen Minutes, by Jodi Picoult.  I picked it because it is a fiction book that in real life could happen and I love Jodi Picoult books, she is an amazing writer!  So far I have read to page eighty, and I love it.  I think it is cool that the narrator switches every couple pages.  It gives you a good idea of what it felt for all the main characters in the book.  It kind of gets confusing when each chapters jumps to different years.  In a way I like it though, because then it shows when Peter started to think violently and why he did what he did.  Picoult uses a lot of imagery to describe the characters jobs, cases,  highschool, how people view themselves, and how others view them.

  1. Good background, Lex! But use your genre sheet and write something creative!
